Why founders choose a free zone

  • 100% foreign ownership — no local partner needed
  • Fast setup — most zones issue the licence within days, largely online
  • Low entry cost — licences from AED 4,888
  • Residence visas for you, partners and staff, based on your package
  • 0% tax on qualifying income for companies that meet the free zone conditions

What to know before you choose

  • A free zone company trades freely outside the UAE and with other free zone companies. To sell directly to customers on the UAE mainland, some activities need a distributor or an additional licence — or a mainland company may suit you better.
  • Each package allows a set number of visas. Pick a package for the team you will have in the next 1–2 years.
  • The cheapest zone is not always the best fit — your activity, banking needs and where you want to be based matter more. See the cheapest free zones and what each price leaves out.

How setup works with Biznexa

  1. Free consultation — we confirm your activity, the right zone and the exact package.
  2. Name and activity approval — we reserve your trade name and submit the application.
  3. Licence issued — usually within days once documents are approved; most of it is done online.
  4. Establishment card and visas — we handle the immigration file, medical and Emirates ID for each visa.
  5. Bank account — we prepare your file and introduce you to banks that suit your activity.

Tax in a free zone

UAE corporate tax is 9% on taxable profit above AED 375,000. A free zone company that meets the "qualifying" conditions — real presence in the zone and mostly qualifying income — can pay 0% on qualifying income, but other income is taxed at 9%. VAT is 5% and registration is required once taxable supplies pass AED 375,000. Our tax and accounting team keeps you compliant.
